Project Description
An application designed to make children's storybooks accessible to visually impaired kids by extracting text and images, generating engaging descriptions using AI, and converting them into speech for an immersive storytelling experience.
Responsibilites
Won first place at the Vancouver Datajam Hackathon 2023 for building an innovative solution to make children's storybooks more accessible to visually impaired kids.
Developed the first prototype using open-source LLM models and built the end-to-end application with a robust backend using FastAPI.
Designed and implemented the entire UI, ensuring a user-friendly experience for interactive storytelling.
Collaborated closely with team members to integrate features and enhancements, creating a seamless and fully functional MVP.
Presented and demoed the application to judges, showcasing its potential impact and practical use case.
